The iconic 46664 Campaign was founded in 2002 to increase awareness on the prevention of HIV/AIDS particularly amongst the youth. Mr Mandela’s Robben Island prison number – 466/64 – was given to the campaign as a powerful reminder that millions of people who are infected with HIV/AIDS and affected by other social skills, are just that – a number.
They too are serving a prison sentence for life.
The vision for 46664 now extends beyond HIV/AIDS, and encompasses a much broader spectrum of issues inspired by Nelson Mandela’s humanitarian legacy. As 46664 approaches the ten year mark, it will see the launch of a new global, socially conscious lifestyle brand. Think of it as clothing with a conscience. This is fashion forward apparel for the discerning buyer who wants to give something back to society.
46664 belongs to all countries and cultures and is for everyone who believes that a better future is in our hands.
